Have you ever found yourself in a place in your life where you could choose what you wanted to do? I do not mean you can choose to make a right or a left, or which cereal you want to buy. I mean choose what you wanted to do with your time. This year, 2020, many like me have found themselves with copious amounts of free time. Time to fill or kill. I, like many others, found myself filling the hours with video games and online schooling. The question became “what is something productive that I could do, that I have always wanted to do”. Soap was the answer. Honestly.
I have always been the type of person who loved working with their hands. I love to create, and I love science. Making soap is equal part of both my passions. Since I was a wee lass I have been interested in and wanting to learn about the health and beauty industry. When I was 18 I went to school for Cosmetology, and that sparked an even further interest. During my schooling we would visit companies that made products, have lectures from reps of products, learning about why certain ingredients were important for the structure of the product, and how they added to the benefit of our hair, skin, and nails.
All of this interest, all of this information and the passion for a creative outlet, have brought me here, to present day; and what have I found? Less is best. The least number of ingredients in a product for your body, the better the product is for you.
Your skin in the largest organ your body has. It is your frontline defense against the outside world. It should be treated so much better than we as a people treat it on a daily basis.
That is why I make soap. Minimal ingredients, simple scents, skin nourishing bases. Period.
Thank you for trying it, I hope your skin enjoys it.
